The voluntary participants were 14 dance department students (age: 22.1 ± 1.3 years old, height: 164.0 ± 3.2 cm, mass: 53.0 ± 4.0 kg), 12 PE students (age: 22.5 ± 2.3 years old, height: 160.3 ± 5.1 cm, mass: 56.4 ± 8.5 kg), and 11 general college students (age: 21.5 ± 2.3 years old, height: 164.1 ± 5.0 cm, mass: 53.4 ± 4.3 kg). All the participants were female and were asked to perform tandem stance that stand with the feet place in-line one behind the other. A Kislter force platform (9260AA6, 1000 Hz) and MARS system (version 2.1.0.8) were used to record and to analysis the performance of stand postural control followed the modules of limits of stability and curve tracking. Independent one way ANOVA with Duncan’s post-hoc test was used to examine the differences in the parameters of postural control among the experimental groups (α = .05). The results showed there were no differences among dance, PE, and general college students on leaning amplitude and incline angle of forward, backward, right, and left directions. Mean absolute error, root mean squared error, and normalized error that measured from curve tracking were showed no significant differences among the participated groups of physical activity. The cross-correlation between the reference curve and the actual center of pressure signal showed the PE students were higher than dance student. It indicated that the ability of postural control could be enhanced through the medium of physical activities. In addition, PE students participated varied physical activities and showed time delay less than dance students during the curve tracking task.
