In order to achieve the higher data rate, the fourth generation of mobile phone mobile communication standard (i.e., Long Term Evolution) has defined the multiple input and multiple output technique, which intends to significantly increase channel capacity and spectrum efficiency.
Plurality of antennas arranged in a small space shall easily cause poor reception signals. In order to make the antenna designers to evaluate the new multi-antenna system, thesis designs a measurement platform for LTE multiple input multiple output system by software. This measurement testbed can provide signal to noise ratio, channel capacity, throughput, error rates and other signal data quickly. Using the testbed, antenna designers could assess the effectiveness of multi-antenna system with a low-cost approach during the develop beginning. Moreover, the testbed can assist the development of mobile phone company testing and accelerating the mobile phone of multi-antenna into the market.
