But the fault current is generally several times or several hundred times of the normal rated operating current. Therefore, the fault must be cleaned as soon as possible to prevent the power equipment getting damaged. To achieve the monitoring of power line and clean the fault, this thesis proposes a collection of smart grid distribution current and fault location system to execute the timely protection of the power line system. This thesis develops a current and temperature measurement device by integration of digital temperature detecting chip, hall effect current sensor and RF(Radio-Frequency)communication module. The fault detecting and indicating performance tests of the fault indicator developed. Unlike other normal hall sensors, the one used by the fault indicator developed in this thesis is the type which could induce magnetic field’s various parallel with the hall sensor chip. By this design, it doesn’t have to contain iron cores or other permeable things which could be magnetic saturation. In comparison with traditional current transformer, the hall sensor can save more room used for the indicator machine. When the power line fault occurs, the current and temperature extremely situation can be detected by the application of fault indicator in smart grid. Then, the RF communication module would indicate the fault to the control station, assisting the maintenance person timely indicating the fault, and improving the power quality. 碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 電機工程學系研究所 === 104 === Recently, with the more complicated distribution system, the power quality becomes a big common concern issue today.
