Low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) is becoming mandatory in low-voltage system due to both security requirement and power-quality consideration. This thesis presents a LVRT strategy for grid-connected inverter to support grid voltage and improve power quality under voltage sag. The proposed inverter is able to inject positive-sequence reactive power to boost voltage and compensate negative -sequence reactive power to suppress negative-sequence voltage according to percentage of voltage sag. Control algorithm and design consideration are presented. Preliminary experiments from lab-scale prototype are provided to validate the effectiveness.
