Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 資訊管理學系研究所 === 104 === Working on a current manufacturing system, a business has to achieve effective control of raw materials, coordination and capacity in order to immediately and accurately respond to customers’ requirements while facing changeable markets and production sites. Advanced Planning and Scheduling System (APS) is considered as an effective management tool for production, marketing and quality. This tool gives an enterprise a comprehensive picture of materials distribution and analysis of production load on site. It allows an enterprise to have appropriate scheduling under limited capacity so that the enterprise is able to achieve maximum capacity with minimum costs.
However, the APS for steel plants in Taiwan has not been maturely developed yet. For example, on a production line, the collection of related statistics and parameters usually comes first. The methods of receiving data and database management are complicated. In addition, plans can never keep up with various changes caused by unexpected factors. Hence, there is always a gap between what’s been planned and what’s been done during a production process. Due to the above gap, making a plan for improving such a gap requires an analytical and assessment approach. Meanwhile, it’s hard to make sure if the developed system is able to practically fulfill the needs of users. It is relatively important to perfectly know what users need and what the correct procedures are. This can decide if a project will succeed or fail.
In this study, the attributes of the APS developed for the case company are organized and categorized for the following research purposes:
A. Predict the efficacy that Rizhao Steel can achieve by using APS.
B. Organize a list of the approaches available for developing APS.
C. Explore the current conditions of APS development for Rizhao Steel, and monitor the problems, difficulties and strategies for improvements arising from the process of APS development in order to avoid the same issues while carrying out another project.
Finally, the results of this study are organized. In addition, the approaches appropriate for APS development are drawn and the related suggestions are made so as to serve as a reference for the top management or chief officers of an enterprise while making follow-up development and implementing future work.
