Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 社會工作系所 === 104 === Large case quantity, high pressure, as well as massive negative emotion and work load faced by social workers engaged in domestic violence control easily induce work exhaustion, and thus lead to high turnover rate and difficult profession formation. Turnover rate can only be lowered down through letting social workers possess ability of evaluating risks, make appropriate judgment and enhance self value. Therefore, the present study has three objectives: 1.Investigate risk assessment aspects and assessment formation process of social workers when they face high-risk cases. 2.Analyze current situations about social workers’ risk assessment of high-risk cases, and thus provide suggestions and assistances for practical works. 3.Investigate considerations that influence social workers’ risk assessment, and discuss implications of assessment knowledge-ability. The present study adopts qualitative research method to conduct interview. Through purposive sampling and maximum variation method, this study chooses social workers engaged in intimate partner violence control in Kaohsiung City as the objects. With three years as boundary point, interviews were performed among eight social workers with more than or less than three years of experiences. Following conclusions are made based on this study: 1.Intimate partner violence is the expression of wrong behavior under social value, cultural context and personal selection. 2.Persons concerned can only actually get rid of violence or never use violence again when they have sufficient power and change their cognition. 3.Degree of risk faced by the injured person needs to be determined depending on intimate relationship risk assessment scale. 4.Besides preliminary assessment by tool, there is also professional re-evaluation. Network professionals’ information integration can be used as powerful basis for action. 5.The aspect of risk judgment should be disposed based on social worker’s personal capability and knowledge. Its sources include formal and informal channels. 6.Risk judgment and risk disposal can only guarantee the decrease in the injured person’s risk of encountering violence. However, organizational culture and social atmosphere should make social workers help both others and themselves. Based on above conclusions, this study proposes suggestions in terms of four aspects-organizational system, policy, practical operation and social worker, in order to strengthen intimate partner violence prevention workers’ risk assessment knowledge-ability.
