The parameters discussed are the grinding rotating speed, feeding rate, cutting depth and burr diameter. The bone temperature rise distributions at different grinding parameters are also measured using the biomechanical test blocks and the established experimental setup. The experiment results can be used to confirm the accuracy of the proposed elastic-plastic dynamic FEM model. The results indicate that the proposed elastic-plastic dynamic FEM model can provide a good prediction on the bone temperature rise while burr grinding through the bone. The results also show that the position where the peak bone temperature and the maximum necrosis size happen is located at the xd=2 mm. Also, the bone temperature decreases with the increase feeding rate. However, the bone temperature increases with the increasing of the burr diameter, rotating speed and cutting depth. The necrosis size can be reduced by increasing the feeding rate or decreasing the rotating speed. In this study, the maximum necrosis size occurred at the grinding parameters D = 4.0 mm, n = 60000 rpm, v = 1.5 mm/s, t = 4 mm, tcor = 4 mm.
