This research adopted questionnaire surveys, paper-based questionnaires on the spot and Web-based questionnaires which obtained 650 valid samples and the obtained data was analyzed by SPSS software with the following methods: descriptive analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, post hoc comparison, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results of this study were as follows: 1.The level of ecotourism cognition for the visitors of Taisha Guanyin Mountain is high. 2.The level of recreational impacts on the visitors of Taisha Guanyin Mountain is between "ordinary" to "severe". 3.Some factors have an obvious influence on ecotourism cognitions dimensions, such as gender, age, occupation, education degree, residence, length of stay, average monthly income, playmate, and participation in environmental education or ecotourism activities, but there is no significant impact of ecotourism cognitions, when it comes to different family status. 4.Some factors have a significant impact on recreational impact, including age, occupation, education degree, average monthly income, playmate, and participation in environmental education or ecotourism activities. The factors of gender, residence, and family status have a significant impact on part of recreational impacts dimensions. However, different length of stay has no significant impact on ecotourism cognitions. 5.This study found that a positive correlation exists between visitors’ cognition of ecotourism of Taisha Guanyin Mountain and recreational impacts.
