| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東大學 === 中國語文學系碩士班 === 104 === Jimmy`s picture books , with vivid images and unique personal style and individualism , are full of possibilities of re-creation.Jimmy not only established a new category of art for Adults`illustrations , but also co-founded the company, “Jimmy S.P.A. Co., Ltd.”with Li,Yu-San and some other friends .
Via the strategy for sustainable management ,Jimmy`s works involve other cross-border industries , successfully cooperate with other horizontal business ,initiate various forms for reading , and also launched his brand into the world.Since his first publication in 1998 until now , many of his works have been adapted into animations , movies , dramas on stage , and have been presented in various forms of media .
The research is based on three of his movies with same name:《Turn Left, Turn Right》、《Sound of Colors》、《Starry , starry , night》, penerates his works from a literacy perspective , analyzes the progress on the adaptions , and also presents the changes and dialogues between picture books and movies .
The research analyzes the plots and the arrangement of characters , reveals the whole dimension between the original edition and the adapted one . Also , the research reoccurs the perspectives between the adapters and the directors , specifically interprets how they are re-adapted .
Finally , the research interprets how the movies present Jimmy`s works through different kinds of media , and shows the core values of his works and the techniques in the movies . Beyond the re-adaptions , his picture books reflect the vividness of the characters and fulfill the storyline.
According to the reseach , the characteristics from his three movies can be summarized into 5 parts :
The necessity for adding more plots and characters.
The correspondences between motion special effects and surrealic painting style.
Transform the poetic pictures into real life images.
Director`s controls on the theme contribute the stlye.
The dispensible elements of romance.
