Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東大學 === 教育學系碩士班 === 104 === This action research aimed to implement Task-based Instruction on twenty-six Grade Fifth students and explore the effect in the aspect of fluency and accuracy of their English oral competence. Furthermore, the action plan had revised continuously on the basis of learner’s feedback. During this research, the data collected from classroom observation, collaborative teacher’s observation, reflective journals, interviews, and learners’ documents were analyzed. The major findings of this study are as follows: 1. This Task- based teaching program could help learners promote the fluency and accuracy of oral competence. 2. This Task- based teaching program could create authentic learning environment, integrate multiple activities, provide learners adequate practice, and lower the anxiety of speaking English.That contributes to enhance larner’s English oral competence. 3. According to open- ended questionaire, most of the learners were affirmative and positive toward the effect of Task- based Instruction. Based on the results, the suggestion for further research in this domain were given.
