This study used questionnaire method. The studied objects were the elder of Linyuan District Center in Kaohsiung City. Stratified judgmental sampling was adopted. The effective samples are 349 in total. According to the results of the questionnaire, the following conclusions are gained by handling data and analyzing method of descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way variance of analysis, Pearson’s product moment correlation, and regression. Conclusions and drawn as follows 1.The social participation of the elders is above average. Among the social participation, Leisure Activities is the highest. 2.Life Satisfaction of the elders is above average. Among the life satisfaction, Enjoyment of Life is the highest. 3.There are significant differences among elders’ social participation depending on the independent income source and self-perceived health. 4.There are significant differences among elders’ life satisfaction depending on the independent income source and self-perceived health. 5.There is a positive correlation between social participation and life satisfaction. 6.Social participation could explain effectively about life satisfaction, especially in Leisure Activities which display the greatest prediction influence. In the end, the author provided relevant suggestions based on the conclusions for elders, governmental agency, and future researchers to make a reference.
