碩士 === 國立澎湖科技大學 === 觀光休閒系碩士班 === 104 === The aim of the research was to investigate the influence analysis of participants support for sustainable tourism development in Con Dao Island. The study collected tourists visited Ho Chi Minh City from February to March in 2016 and residents staying on Con Dao as research samples. Out of 360 questionnaires, 316 were valid ones. The collected questionnaires were performed with SPSS to describe and analyze T-Test, One-Way ANOVA, Factor Analysis, Pearson Correlation Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling was applied according to research objectives. The purposes of the study wanted to assess the support of participants for sustainable tourism development using the latent variables: perceived benefits, perceived costs, satisfaction and support for sustainable tourism. Through by using data from a survey, two models were evaluated using structural equation modeling. And also, using Social Exchange Theory has been the most commonly accepted framework in explaining participants' reaction to tourism development, the analytical results suggest that the perceived benefits of sustainable tourism directly, positively, and significantly affected support for sustainable tourism development. The perceived costs of sustainable tourism directly, negatively, and insignificantly affected support for sustainable tourism development. Besides that, the satisfaction affects the relationship between benefits and support for sustainable tourism development.
