And whether their knowledge about aging and their attitude toward the elderly will vary from different factors like gender, departments, religion, family social-economic status and the degree of contact with the elderly is analyzed. Besides, the correlation of the knowledge about aging and the attitude toward the elderly is investigated. The study focused on the students of a high school in Nantou County. The survey was conducted through random sampling and by the questionnaire of high school students’ knowledge about aging and their attitude toward the elderly. The background information, the knowledge about aging scale and the attitude toward the elderly scale composed the questionnaire. 435 questionnaires to students and a total of 398 valid questionnaires were retrieved. Independent-Sample T Test, One-way ANOVA and Pearson's product-moment correlation were used for data analysis. The following are the results of data analysis:(1)The knowledge about aging of high school students is fine. Scores in descending order show social aging, psychological aging and physical aging.(2)The attitude toward the elderly of high school students is positive. Scores in descending order show psychological aspect, social aspect and physical aspect.(3)The knowledge about aging of high school students is influenced by gender and the degree of contact with the elderly.(4)The attitude toward the elderly is influenced by gender, the experience of taking care of the elderly and the degree of contact with the elderly.(5)Correlation shows between the knowledge about aging and the attitude toward the elderly. Based on the results above, some suggestions are provided for education administration authority, school and teachers to promote the knowledge about aging and the attitude toward the elderly.
