Taiwan has been towards aging society, problems of the elderly can’t be ignored. The elderly population increases every year, resulting in a number of social, psychological, health problems and so on. The elderly population increases every year, resulting in a number of social, psychological, health problems and so on. To reduce the occurrence of chronic disease and mental illness, the improvement of quality life for elderly is very important. In 2002, WHO proposed an active aging policy framework, there are 3 major advocates for the health, participation, and security promotion of elderly quality of life and happiness. Therefore, this study mainly explored the social participation of the elderly and subjective well-being (SWB) factors related to the community, especially with the progress of society, social participation of the elderly increasing, the elderly can choose the most suitable type of activity for social participation。This study was distributed 312 questionnaires in Miaoli area for over 55 years elderly in community and recycling 257 valid questionnaires, after data collection and statistical analysis. The results found that the type of social participation vary differently by gender, age, marital status, living conditions, education, work status, and source of income. SWB vary differently due to living conditions, education, work status, source of income.Another subject of social participation and well-being of the elderly correlation analysis can be found in social participation and subjective well-being in life satisfaction, self-esteem and emotional responses are showing significant positive correlation.
