A quasi experimental method adopted in the research, based on analysis of prior research and the researcher’s own personal teaching experience and research. Data collected in 28 weeks teaching period. 57 eighth graders from 2 classes in southern Taiwan participated in the study. One class acted as the experimental group and the other as the control group. The results were: 1. The experimental group in cooperative learning methods have shown significant improvement in the sub-dimension of mathematical learning attitude: self efficacy, active learning strategies, achievement goals and learning environment incentives. 2. The experimental group in cooperative learning methods have shown significant improvement in their mathematics learning attitude scale score, compared to the control group. 3. The experimental group did not shown significant improvement in their mathematics achievement, compared to the control group. 4. Groups form high, medium, and low scores in cooperative learning strategies did not shown significant improvement in their mathematics achievement. 5. The cooperative learning strategies improved subjects’ mathematics learning attitude, learning motivation, comprehension, mathematics achievement, problem solving skills and social skills. The cooperative learning strategies also encouraged a pressure reduced learning environment as well.
