In order to ensuring the quality of workpiece, it is necessary to dressing for restoring the ability of grinding. In light of this, dressing will affect the surface quality of workpiece, and ground surface will reflect dressing. Thus, determine the processing quality by using dressing with grinding condition, it can raise processing efficiency, reduce processing costs and defective products. The research is discussed about the effect of grinding process after dressing. Using signal analysis and data processing to handle the signal which is from dressing and grinding in experiments, observed and compared with the measurement of surface roughness, finding the correlation to provide the reference information for processors. According to the result of experiment, it is correlative of the energy of acoustic emission and the equivalent dressing degree which is composed of depth and lead. The smaller equivalent dressing degree can obtain the good surface quality and consume less energy. However, when the equivalent dressing degree is modulated, the acoustic emission energy and the surface quality will change.
