One type of insurance marketing channels is car dealer channel (insurance brokers and agents) and the other type is non-car dealer channel (insurance representative). We use personal vehicle damage insurance data during 2012 to 2014 from a domestic insurance company. Our results show that there are no different in the levels of claim amounts for the different insurance marketing channels. Howeer, car dealer channel is less likely to have higher claim amounts than that of non-car dealer channel. The main reason might be the higher proportion of new car selling from the car dealer channel and new car has more claims in the expiration date which may lead to relatively lower claim amounts.
