| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄海洋科技大學 === 輪機工程研究所 === 104 === Fisheries have been considered as one of the most important traditional industries in Taiwan. Yet, the most important part of the fishing operation is the fishing ships among all the equipments. Once a fire gutted the fishing ship, it might cause extensive damage on properties and personnel casualties. Ship fires are among the most difficult to control due to the limited space and resource. In addition, ship’s internal configuration and composite structure can hamper firefighting operations. This study is aiming at ship fires for study, referencing foreign ship fire rescues as case studies and discussing the countermeasures taken in ship fire rescues. It is to be hoped that this research can be served as a reference for firefighters, allowing them to deploy rapid fire intervention operations and enhance the effectiveness of relief in the case of ship fire taken place within Kaohsiung harbor.
