As a member of the global village, we have an obligation and duty to contribtue to the sustainable development and protectionof the environment. Therefore, the LOHAS concept of keeping healthy, environmental protection and sustainable development has become a new phenomenon. The idea of global LOHAS has also become popular. Xiaying is a paradise of LOHAS on the Chianan Plain; E-iang (A營) Winnie the Pooh Painted Village was created by a group of local youths and it can be called a manga collection which includes not only Winnie the Pooh but also Slam Dunk, One Piece, Lilo & Stitch and Super Mario. Religious beliefs in Pak Tai, Tienhou Temple and the three treasures of Xiaying are also contained in its painting. It depends on people to commont on these painting. But if you want to get surrounded by various paintings and well-known manga characters, why not taking a trip to Xiaying? It’s really a good place to experience meantal education which is combined in the school-based curriculum.
This paper attempts to interpret and engage in-depth characteristics of the culture and value of Xiaying (also named Haiqianying) through digital multimedia technology, including digital archives and creativity so as to share, market, and present Xiaying as a LOHAS town that is “good for mental and physical health, with great art, culture and creativity, great for people who wish to learn in a comfortable environment, and with inspiring atmosphere under education of models.” Further, it builds an integrated guide platform which named “E-iang (A營) LOHAS Mental Education” to activate the local culture of Haiqianying, religious beliefs in Pak Tai, the affiliation between the Temple and people of the sixsurnames, industrial cultures of the three treasures of Xiaying. It highlights a collection of painted manga culture and a connection between the community and students’ experience in life. It also emphasizes experimental learning and reflections in practice, cultivating students’ independent learning abilities and affections toward their hometown in order to achieve the basic educational goal and create a new opportunity to contribute to sustainable development.
