Summary:碩士 === 國立宜蘭大學 === 生物資源學院碩士在職專班 === 104 === The study is to discuss the effectiveness of weight control intervention using the selected example from Yilan junior high school overweight and obese students.By the end of this designed eight-weeks weight control program, this study is in hope of reaching the result of enhancing students' cognition of weight controlling behavior, self-efficacy, social support, and also improving the condition of body weight, BMI, body fat and waist circumference. The study uses "pre/post assessment quasi-experimental method" which selectsa total of 50 students as subjects (N= 24 for the experimenting group, N = 26 for the control group ) from 13 -year-old students BMI ≧ 21.9 and 14 -year-old students BMI ≧22.5 fromYilan County Wen-Hua Junior High School. The experimental group receives an eight-week weight controlintervention in contrast of the control group which receives no treatment. One week before and afterthe teaching program, we gather the two groupsdata of body weight, BMI, body fat, waist circumference and effectiveness assessment questionnaire Pretest-Posttest in order to understand the effectiveness of teaching intervention. The results showed that throughout the eight-weeks of intervention the experimental group had made significant improvements on weight control cognition includes health, diet and exercise. However the result showed no significant changes in the control group. In the experimental group, the weight control behaviors are significantly improved which includes diet behaviors and exercise behaviors. On the other hand in the control group, the exercise motivation has declined and the rest of the results have no significant differences. As for the experimenting group, the weight control self-efficacy are significantly improved which includes diet self-efficacy and exercise self-efficacy, but in the control group weight control self-efficacy has made no obvious differences. The social support are also significantly increased; The body weight, BMI, body fat waist circumference are significanttly declined, while the weight and BMI from the control group have significantly increased. As a result, after eight weeks of weight controlling teaching intervention the overweight and obesity junior high school students have reached a effective result in weight control cognitive , weight control behavioral, weight control self-efficacy , social support and position value. The results ofthis study can provide a new prospective for future research on junior high school weight control program.
