Remote monitoring and control system has is one of the applications used in the internet. Taking industrial equipment overseas for example, real-time data aren’t easily available because of long distance, so remote monitoring and control system plays an important role in manufacturing. An integration of industrial equipment and monitoring and control system can improve business competitiveness. Via the internet, real-time data of industrial equipment are obtained and remote monitoring and control can be achieved. In this thesis, an injection molding machine is connected to a computer, called server, through Modbus protocol. Real-time data obtained from the machine are stored in a database via SCADA software and for further analysis if necessary. This enables the machine to have the following capacities: self-maintenance, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and communications. And it results in saving labor and time consuming. Whether using computer or smart devices, factory administrators can monitor the status and operation records of the machine, or technical engineers can troubleshoot or set parameters. In this research, the WebAccess software of Advantech is applied to the controller of the machine power system and it improves the maintenance mechanism to be more reliable, convenient, and valuable.
