Prior cerebrovascular accident has been ranked the top ten reasons for the death of several of Taiwan, the stroke not only affect individual's own activities of daily living and quality of life, and its follow-up care also is great load to the family and social. This paper discusses the life story of the family long-term to accompany stroke patient, and take the interview in depth and semi-structured interview of the qualitative research to study, the conclusions are as follows: First, the stroke patient's family have a heavy load and pressure of physical and mental from the physical, psychological, social, economic, etc. in this situation. Second, relatives and friends, religion, and social welfare resources are support forces of caregivers, by religious forces so that caregivers get inner and spiritual sustenance, timely use of social welfare resources allows caregivers to take a break, and continue to face the future. Third, the stroke patient's family change the mental state during the care history, because of their disease, to know life constantly changing, let their resentment go, accept and ready to face the future. Fourth, the stroke patient's family face to this decision and idea of to sign DNR is to maintain the dignity of the patient and give up futile medical care, for the incurable diseases, no longer actively rescue, let things slide. There are also many times from the interaction with the research participants found that they got emotional catharsis and expression after talk about the sadness and difficulties of care history, and the relationship seemed to closer, they would be willing to share ideas and the problems of care with researchers, feel like to be a friend, which is we would like to see. We hope this study offer a new understanding about related mentality to the family long-term to accompany stroke patient, and offer a new view to other patient's family and health care professionals, each stroke disability in the care history of disease can be treated in dignity and fully love and care.
