Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 104 === This study aimed to understand the present motivations and constrains for participation in recreational sports by teachers at special education schools in northern Taiwan. It also explored correlations between the factors of the motivations and constrains by comparing the differences between these factors. We conducted a questionnaire survey on teachers at nine special education schools in northern Taiwan in the academic year of 2015. A total of 390 valid pieces of questionnaire were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Independent-Samples t-Test, one-way analysis of variance and Pearson product-moment correlation. The findings were 1. The most important factor of the recreational sports participating motivations of teachers at special education schools in northern Taiwan was “health requirement”, while the least important one was “social need”; whereas, the most perceptible factor of the constrains was “personal inherent impediment” with the least perceptible one being “structural impediment”; 2. of the background variables for the recreational sports participating motivations, only the factors of gender, service years of teaching, and frequency of recreational sports per week display significant variances; significant variances were also seen in gender and frequency of recreational sports of all the factors of constraints; 3. there were no correlations between recreational sports participating motivations and constrains herein, but, the personal inherent impediment was negatively related, to a significant extent, to health needs, need of self-achievement, psychological needs and intellectual need, except social needs; so was social impediment to health need. It is hoped herein to present, based on the above outlined findings, recommendations to educational authorities, schools, teachers and researchers of subsequent research, and such recommendations would help in improving the recreational sports by teachers at special education schools.
