Summary: | 碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 教育與學習科技學系教育行政碩士在職專班 === 104 === The purpose of this study is to realize how performing arts curriculum work and their affect on teachers’ professional growth and student achievements in Pearl elementary school.
The research is a case study, and data is collected by interviewing ten educational staffs, parent representatives and student representatives, and analyzing documents and adding researcher’s reflection notes. The findings of the study are as following:
1.The discussions of the operation of school-based curriculum of Pearl
elementary school are as following:
(Ⅰ) The performing arts curriculum working in Pearl elementary school is a long time operation course, and focus on teachers’ profession.
(ⅱ) The characteristic of performing arts curriculum working in Pearl elementary is flexible, cyclical, shared practice, and teaching to solve practical problems, but there is still room to grow for members of the external teachers professional dialogue and interactive efforts.
(ⅲ)The principals played roles as curriculum guide, encourager, facilitator and promoters, and the courses formulation and planning is participation by all members.
(ⅳ) The administrative team of Pearl elementary school gives supportive conditions for performing arts curriculum, including structural factors like time and resources and relational factors like keeping teachers in good communication channels.
(ⅴ)The difficulties of performing arts curriculum come from inner structure conditions.
(ⅵ)The key of how performing arts curriculum works in Pearl elementary school is support from the principals having the forward-looking vision, the administrative team, members who getting the opportunity to show from the course development process to build confidence, and the support within the partners.
2. The discussions of the teachers’ professional growth of Pearl elementary school are as following:
(Ⅰ)The performing arts curriculum bring out the culture of teachers’ professional growth and paying attention to students’ learning outcomes. These obtain the public compliments and parents on teachers’ profession and student learning.
(ⅱ) The reflection of the teachers’ professional growth comes from members involved in the operation of the course, professional dialogues and viewing teaching achievements.
(ⅲ) Student achievements is the connection to examine teachers’ professional growth and student learning.
3.The discussion of students’ learning achievement of school-based
curriculum of Pearl elementary school are as following:
(Ⅰ)Students are glad to express their opinions, show their creativity, love the
school-based curriculum and increase active participation desire at the same time.
(ⅱ) There is significant progressing on students’ reading ablilty and fitness.
According to the findings of the study, there are some suggestions for Pearl elementary school, intended schools or teachers and future studies.
