The key to the survival of a school organization, facing the drastic changes in the education market, is to respond and reform. This research aims to understand the transforming process of a vocational high school led by its principal so as to offer some suggestions for improving the school culture in technological and vocational high schools in Taiwan to enhance organizational performance and reflections on the current educational environment. Relevant literature concerning transformational leadership was collected and analyzed first for establishing the research framework. The research lasted for two years (from September 2013 to October 2015) and was conducted mainly through interviews, observation, and document collection. The main conclusions are drawn as follows.(1) A school’s transformational process of management change starts from the professional leadership of its principal and collaboration between school groups. (2) The management change of a transformational school depends on the influence of its leaders and clear team goal orientation. (3) In terms of the performance of organizational change, a transformational school displays marked cultural renewal and diversity. In addition, based on the main findings and conclusions of the research, a few suggestions are made,particularly at this moment of rising re-emphasis in Taiwan on technological and vocational education, for those who are interested in further studying the theory and practice of organizational innovation and development, operators who are active in promoting the innovation of school organizations as well as future researchers. iii Tien-Tai Wu 吳天泰 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 137 |
