| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 音樂學系 === 104 === The purpose of this report is to explore the geographical characteristics and folk style of the Italian Neapolitan ballads (Canzone Napoletana). By means of collecting the documents and nformation, the following study is conducted.
The theoretical base of this paper is the analysis of the Naples folks. Three famous songs - Santa Lucia, O Solo mio, Torna a Sorriento were selected as study subjects. These three songs are high frequency singed during the concert by the contemporary singer and could be the representative Neapolitan folk during the 19th century. This study was conducted based on two aspects of the analysis and the differences comparisons.
For the differences comparisons in interpretation between Naples folk and classical music, the comparison method was used. By the table and column way, it is a good way to integrate and detail out the annotation differences between Naples folk and classical music. Firstly, by using the composition analysis to explore the uniqueness of the Naples folk style at the 19th-century. Secondly, to discover the annotation difference between the 19th-century Naples folk and classical music.
The domestic ,oversea domestic and overseas relevant literature were reviewed and The performance of various vocalists from this area was analyzed. In addition, the the vocal teaching method and the related discourse from the domestic and oversea’ scholars were studied.
After a long period of collecting and research, the study suggests that the unique of the Neapolitan style Ballads comes from the local culture and the life style. For instance, Santa Lucia , as the song mane actually picks from local place name. It also is a name of a Catholic saint. It is by storytelling way to perform the local folk Barcarolle. Regarding O Solo mio, there are two different versions on the record, but major records are to describe the local love story. As for Torna a Sorriento is to descript the calling from families and friends. It is telling people do not forget the hometown’s beautiful scenery and friends. No matter in the lyrics and genre, it all shows rich emotion in the unique Naples’s style.
