Summary: | 碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 教育行政與政策發展研究所 === 104 === This research aims at exploring the current situations of the coach leadership behavior perceived by physical education major undergraduate students and to compare the variations of coach leadership behavior among different background variables. Questionnaire survey was the research method and the questionnaire was divided into two parts: Coach Leadership Scale and Basic Personal Information. A total of 260 questionnaires were sent, 260 questionnaires returned with 247 valid ones, and the effective response rate is 95%. Descriptive statistics, Independent One-way ANOVA, Scheffe method and Independent sample t-test were applied for data analysis. According to the results of analysis, this research generates the following conclusions:
a. Physical education undergraduate students perceived coach leadership behavior from high to low are “Dominating behavior,” “Training and leading behavior,” “Caring behavior,” “Encouraging behavior,” and “Liberal behavior” is the lowest.
b. There was no significant differences found on coach leadership behavior variables between different background variables of gender, grade, sports expertise, and enrolling in teacher education or not.
c. Different gender students perceived significant difference on the factor of “coach’s dominant coaching behavior. The second important finding is students who are expertised in “ball related exercise” perceived significant higher dominat coaching behavior than other students.
In the final part of this thesis, recommendations for physical education coaches and training quality of physical education department are discussed.
