In this research, examples from the traditional Chinese version and the simplified Chinese version of the animation Frozen are discussed. The respective dubbing translation strategies are observed. Possible reasons and translation effects are generalized. Finally, suggestions for dubbing translation strategies are made in the hope to provide animation translators, dubbing artists, and dubbing companies as a reference. The research showed that, in the songs, the traditional Chinese version emphasized more on lip synchrony, while the simplified Chinese version valued more on faithfulness to the source text; in the dialogues, the traditional Chinese version stayed faithful to the source text, while the simplified Chinese version emphasized more on naturalness. It is suggested that the translators should try their best to achieve lip synchrony. However, if there is an important meaning in the source text that cannot be abandoned, conveying it should be the first priority. Keywords: dubbing translation, lip synchrony, translation strategy Lai, Ping-Yen 賴秉彥 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 57 en_US
