The purposes of the study were to know the design concepts of the group program and how helping professionals were influenced after participating outdoor adventure and the follow-up effects on self-care and growth. This study adopted qualitative research methods, collecting the experiences data by having in-depth interviews with six helping professionals who participated in " Dewey with Jung, Hualien to Taitung Bicycle Touring. ". After compiling, analyzing and summarizing all the data, the conclusions are as follows: 1. The design concepts of “Dewey with Jung, Hualien to Taitung Bicycle Touring” program were based on respecting and treating people well; through the outdoor activities, members can demonstrate great energy and bring changes to their lives. Genuine people met, interacted and changed in challenging activities in Mother Nature. Group leaders also rode along with all members, helped build an equal and friendly atmosphere and teach helping professionals to be their true selves. Group members supported and assisted each others. Blank time enabled members to interact genuinely with each other and the healing happened thereafter. LOD and FREE empowered the members;SOLO let members to rethink, rest and recharge. Healing took place in Mother Nature, in group adventures and in members’ mind, enabling us to take good care of selves. 2. Experiences and influences from outdoor adventure education:(1) Be nurtured by Mother Nature: resonating with Mother Nature, inspired by Mother Nature, feelings awakened in Mother Nature. (2) Stay true to self in healing groups: healing experiences, growing groups, loose role-frames . (3) Helping professionals explored themselves, challenged themselves, broke the limits and grew up within. The experiences included knowing themselves, drifting the points, going through the challenges, and nurturing themselves. 3. Follow-up self-care, growth and effects after participating outdoor adventure education:(1) Find meanings and values in self-awareness.(2) Remain flexible and positive cognition toward anything.(3) Be aware of the importance of health and regular exercises. (4) Take actions to make progress persistently. (5) Create orientation and improvement of profession. (6) Create the positive circulation of interpersonal relationship. Finally, suggestions were made as references in applying outdoor adventure education to helping professionals, self-care and growth of helping professionals and the future research.
