After reviewing literatures, this study proposes its research model and three competing models. This study uses the questionnaire survey procedure. The instruments used in this study included Openness to Experience Scale, Vancouver Index of Acculturation, and College Adjustment Inventory, a total of 377 valid questionaires were obtained. To investigate the relationship between the latent variables, the empirical data of this study was analysed by descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling to assess the goodness of fit of models and obtain the best goodness of fit model. The findings of this study were summarized as follows: 1.Overseas Chinese students in Taiwan are highly openness to experience. 2.Both heritage and Taiwan (mainstream) acculturation attitudes of Overseas Chinese students in Taiwan are high, but they engage more heritage acculturation attitudes than Taiwan acculturation attitudes. 3.Overseas Chinese students’ psychological adjustments are fair. 4.Competing model 3 which posits acculturation attitutes fully mediate on the relationship between openness to experience and psychological adjustment is the best goodness of fit model. Competing model 3 represents both of heritage and Taiwan acculturation attitudes fully mediate on the relationship between overseas Chinese students’ openness to experience and psychological adjustment, and heritage acculturation attitude don’t effect the psychological adjustment directly but indirectly. Additionally, heritage acculturation attitude can predict Taiwan acculturation attitude. Based on the above findings, the conclusions of this study are summarized, the limitations and the values of this study are proposed. Several suggestions are offered to overseas Chinese students in Taiwan, psychologist or counselling practitioners, intructors of overseas Chinese student, and future reseachers.
