The survey was carried out on 659 students in Chinese Independent Schools in Kuala Lumpur and Klang, Malaysia. The descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the survey data. The findings of the study were summarized as follows: first, the study indicated that students of Chinese Independent Schools have positive attitudes towards service learning, with a good degree of empathy, and have shown high level prosocial behavior. Second, there were significant gender differences in service-learning, as well as involvement in service type of extracurricular activities and experiences in service. Third, there were significant gender and experience in service differences in empathy; participation in different types of extracurricular activities shown partially significant difference in empathy. Fourth, it was found that students of different gender and experience in service differed significantly in their prosocial behavior. Fifth, the study reported positively significant correlation among service-learning, empathy and prosocial behavior. Sixth: Students’ services learning attitude and degree of empathy significantly predicted prosocial behavior. The suggestions of findings were made for teachers, school administrators, and future research. Kung,Hsin-Yi 龔心怡 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 112 zh-TW
