Increased risk of periodontal disease among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients: A population‐based prospective cohort study in Taiwan

碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 資訊工程學系在職專班 === 104 === Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the most common respiratory diseases which characterized by airflow limitation that is not fully reversible. Recent studies have shown that COPD increases the risk of periodontal disease. Therefore, this study intends to use the information in Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database to explore whether patients with COPD increased risk of periodontal disease than non-COPD patients and effects of PD if patients have specific comorbidity. The results showed that patients with COPD compared with non-COPD patients significantly increases the risk of periodontal disease (aHR=1.107, 95% CI=1.028-1.192). Furthermore, COPD patients with these comorbidities, osteoporosis、liver disease will increase the risk of PD.
