The triple-mode digital baseband receiver based on IEEE 802.15.3c and IEEE 802.11ad is composed by all-digital synchronization, poly-phase filter-bank, channel equalizer, high throughput FFT and PNC. In order to ease the clock rate, the modules of digital baseband are designed with 8X-parallelism without feedback tracking loop to meet the 2.64 GHz sampling rate. In the design of FBMC, the time-frequency response and the form of PPN-FFT architecture for FBMC system are derived first. A 8 times parallel two sets FBMC-OQAM architecture called Interleaving Poly-phase Network (I-PPN) is proposed. The proposed I-PPN includes 3 main modules named as Memory Multiplexer, Filter Coefficient Selection and Shuffling Convolution. Each module used specific ways to reduce the area. As a result, the area of the proposed I-PPN only cost 65% area of the formal design for PPN FBMC-OQAM . Spectrum efficiency/ Bandwidth of FBMC is 16.8% higher than OFDM. In hardware desgin, the proposed FBMC hardware achieve the 21.4 Gbps, which is higher than SC 7 Gbps and OFDM 14 Gbps due to the higher frequency and time domain efficiency.
