And with the Internet booming in the past decades, it gradually becomes the most popular wireless connectivity method and is familiar by people all around the world nowadays. As the spreading of portable devices flourishes Wi-Fi applications and requirements, the Wi-Fi users and suppliers are eager to find out innovative applications for Wi-Fi, such as information providing and exchange between or among vehicles, that is the internet on vehicles. Under the scope of IoT, this research probes the great opportunities given by the next BIG things, “IoT” and “IoV”, by exploring the determinants in the development and application of the Wi-Fi technologies, and foresees the development situation of Wi-Fi.
