Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立體育大學 === 體育研究所 === 104 === The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of different type of self-talk on badminton performance, and examine the moderation effects of reinvestment personality. This study administered reinvestment scale to 56 badminton players (Mage =10.89years; SD=0.91) and sampled 28 high/low reinvestment players (n=56) participated in experiments. By using counter-balance approach, participants were assigned in motivational self-talk, instructional self-talk and irrelevant self-talk conditions to perform long/short serves. Results indicated that there was on interaction effects between reinvestment, self-talk and badminton serves. There was on main effect of self-talk on badminton performance. But this study found there was a main effect of reinvestment on short serve. Specifically, participants with high reinvestment performed better on short serve than low reinvestment players. This study concluded that participants’ age and skill level may limit the effects of self-talk on badminton performance. This study suggested that future study may use participants with different sports and skill levels/gender on the effects of self-talk on badminton performance.
