The research is from quantitative data by face-to-face questionnaire investigation through 156 elderly participants in senior center services in order to understand the relevant factors of elderly well-being. This study used regression analysis to explain the effects of each variable on well-being and also used qualitative method by interviewing 6 elderly participants in senior center services to supplement quantitative results. The well-being has significant effect on the level of education, self-perceived economic status, self-perceived health status, the depression, the attitude toward aging, the life satisfaction of the elderly and instrumental social support. The depression and the life satisfaction of the elderly are the most important factors to predict the elderly well-being. Through the step-wise regression analysis, all of the variables account for 49.9% variances. However, the variable of senior center services is not significantly relative with well-being, to supplement the impacts of senior services for elderly well-being by qualitative interviews. It confirms that the senior center services affect the elderly well-being indeed. The main findings of this research are as following: 1. The more severe depression of the elderly, the lower well-being. 2. The higher life satisfaction of the elderly, the higher well-being. 3. The well-being of the elderly education under the primary is higher than the one with post-primary. 4. The more instrumental social supports of the elderly, the higher well-being. With the elderly increases, the needs of the senior center services relatively raise. Through this study, hope the government can pay more attention to the healthy elderly services not only on physiological level but also on psychological level to create a joyful elderly life for them. Finally, this study proposes the suggestions about personal, social and future sides. Chi-Chung Huang 黃志忠 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 142 zh-TW |
