Furthermore, the impact of political media towards the public’s political trust has been confirmed by the academics, yet no significant correlation was found between them in some empirical studies. Therefore, this thesis also focus on political media variables.
It was found in the results: 1. The variables used by academic community in Taiwan to construct political trust can be divided in personal, political media, ideological, political attitude, government evaluation and important events. 2. When using the data of political trust from TEDS, the citizens’ political trust was assumed, by the academics, to be directed to the central government; however, this thesis confirms when the respondents faced the questions of political trust with unspecified subject, they might answered the questions based on their perceptions towards other local governments. 3. There is certainly a tendency of biased political information generated by the political media, and compared to the journalists’ or the public’s political trust, political inclination of the newspaper office had the most explanatory power towards the angle of the biased political information. In addition, the majority of the journalists would integrate into the cultural systems of the newspaper office, and none of them claimed the existence of a review mechanism.
