Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 台灣文學系 === 104 === Minzoku Taiwan (1941-1945) was a magazine which mainly researched and documented Taiwanese folkways. Its editorial policy attached importance to “The people born in Taiwan” as the main researchers of Taiwanese folkways, and did not closely delineate the range of research content. The magazine offered a platform for free participation, contribution, and discussion. Moreover, it also emphasized the interactions, personal connections and dialogue between readers. This resulted in increasing the participation of Taiwanese contributors and readers from different places in the Taiwan region. In the magazine, many Taiwanese contributors referenced the existence of different cultural and ethnic groups and the differences in their folkways, origins, collective memories and shared relationships. Also, “Mingei” (Folk-Craft), in which high value is placed on the relationships between crafts, life, society and tradition, was another crucial topic in the magazine. This thesis is a study on how Taiwanese imagined their society and history through Minzoku Taiwan , and the meaning of Minzoku Taiwan for Taiwanese.
