Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 心理學系 === 104 === Subliminal perception means to process information that is presented under the perceptual threshold. It can be investigated by using masked priming paradigms. Some recent studies showed that people can process more than one subliminal prime simultaneously to not only the perceptual but also the semantic level. In our Experiment 1 and 2, we replicated Van Opstal’s findings in Taiwan. By changing the complexity of stimulus sets in Experiment 3, 4, and 5, we found that people tend to treat the same letter with difference case (e.g., A and a) as different by default, but this could be changed according to the context they are in. Our results seem to support Van Opstal’s theory, but further investigations are still needed to elucidate the underlying processes of this phenomenon.
