Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 地球科學系碩士在職專班 === 104 === The Liuchia Muchiliao Fault and Chukou Fault, located at the boundary of the plain and the foothills in southwestern Taiwan, have been deemed as high activating thrusts in the previous researches. Therefore it is important to understand the seismic hazard based on the surface deformation monitoring. Differential interferometry radar has been proven to be an effective, efficient and comprehensive surface deformation measuring method. The climatical, temporal and artificial factors are uninfluential to the Persistent Scatters SAR Interferometry (PSInSAR). In this study, we used 16 Envisat ASAR acquisitions from 2005 to 2008, processing by PSInSAR, to acquire the average LOS velocity in the area around the Liuchia Muchiliao Fault and Chukou Fault. The GPS data and precise leveling measurement data are also used to validate the correctness of the PSInSAR method. The subsidence rate of 5 - 10 mm/yr (away from the satellite) is observed in the plain region, west of the Liuchia Muchiliao Fault; while the uplift rate of 5 - 15 mm/yr (close to the satellite) in the hill region, east of the fault. Therefore we re-demonstrate that the Liuchia Muchiliao Fault is an active fault in this study.
