Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 企業管理學系 === 104 === Along with the speedy growth of global economy, the number of companies all around the world is getting higher which leads to the fiercer competition between them. The personalities of employees are seen as important factors that have huge influences to the generation and implementation new ideas process of the organizations. I propose that proactive personality and extraversion have positive relationships with idea generation. Besides that, idea generation has a strong relationship with idea implementation. Moreover, it is believed that idea generation mediates the relationship between both proactive personality and extraversion with idea implementation. Since idea generation is considered as a core competence for organizations to outperform their competitors, I investigate whether other factors can enhance the relationship between personalities of employees and idea generation. Because transformational leaders are creative and they can change the surrounding environment thus, it is expected that transformational leadership can create more opportunities for proactive and extrovert employees to generate more new and useful ideas. However, transformational leadership does not significantly moderate the correlation between proactive personality and extraversion with idea generation. Furthermore, I also figured out that high performance work system can leverage the talent of employees which cause better performances of both employees and organizations. I propose that high performance work system can provoke proactive and extrovert employees to produce more ideas. In other words, high performance work system plays a moderating role in the relationship between proactive personality and extraversion with idea generation. Nevertheless, the result shows that high performance work system only facilitates the idea generation of proactive employees, not the idea generation of extrovert employees. Using the sample of 243 Vietnamese respondents from various industries and companies, my research contributes to this research field and also brings out some suggestions for future researches.
