Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 土木工程學系 === 104 === In order to assess and reduce the environmental impacts of construction projects, it is important to quantify the impacts by calculating carbon footprint. There are some uncertainties in carbon footprint calculation, the main one is lack of some emission factors. This research presented details of calculation, including system boundary, emission factor selection and assumptions. The assumptions adopted by previous studies were collected and categorized to establish a process, and a roadway project was used as an example to calculate carbon footprint throughout the established process. Three assumptions were set in the process: estimate by percentage of raw materials (for material), use factors of similar ones (for equipment), and interpolation/extrapolation (for equipment). The CO2 emission tables for individual work items were established, and CO2 emissions are calculated. The total emission of the case project is 166,833 TCO2e. Bridge construction is the largest emission activity (69.8%). Through this process, the calculable items account for 91.8% of the contract amount (16.1% calculated by assumptions). Compared with a previous calculation of the same project, the calculated percentage raised 14.6%, and the CO2 emissions raised 12%.
