The research chose the Greenroads rating system to investigate the proportionality of the indicator scores and the environmental impacts to assess the reasonableness of the indicator scores. In total, 20 indicators were analyzed in three categories including construction activities, materials and resources, and pavement technology. The indicators were classified into those related to documents (human benefit), and environmental impacts. Then the involved life cycle stages of the indicators were analyzed according to the indicator’s objectives and requirements. Furthermore, the indicators from cases were collected and CO2 emissions calculated. Finally, the indicator scores and CO2 emissions were compared. In the case of MR-4 recycled materials, CO2 emissions of examples 1 and 2 are individually 0.86 kgCO2e /m2 and 150 kgCO2e/ m2. The latter is 174 times larger than the former, but its score is only three times former; for MR-5 regional materials, example 1 reduces 19 kgCO2e /m2, scoring 1 point; and example 2 reduces 1.2 kgCO2e/m2, scoring 4 points. The amounts of carbon reduction and indicator scores are not compatitble. The results show that no significant relationships exist between the CO2 emissions of the indicators and their scores. The analysis of life cycle shows that indicators involving material production and transport make a greater impact on the environment and result in higher scores. A. S.
