Some are hidden in between the villages, while others are hidden in the city, and some even stand in between the mountains. These cultures add many humanistic colors to Taiwan. Hakka culture is jointly created by the large number of Hakka people in Asia, including theater, music, folklore, architecture, humanities and diet, etc. Furthermore, Hakka culture is affected by the environment of long-term living in the hill after many ethnic migrations, thus, forming a distinctive and diversified Hakka culture. Different Hakka branch shows the different cultural characteristic.
The impression for Eastern Taiwan (so called Beyond The Mountain), few would think of Hakka culture. Therefore, this work attempts to find the unique Hakka culture and to explore Hakka ethnic group at The Eastern Region of Taiwan. With images and innovative aesthetics to record and to inherit the Hakka people’s painstaking efforts, frugal living thinking, and the unique culture retained by a wide range of tradition. This work is to discuss the reason of gradual loss of Hualien Hakka culture, whereby, the emphasis on gradually declined Whirl Lan Hakka culture.
Finally, through the analysis of different angles, in addition to the historical and cultural construction of visual experience, the reader/ audience also can feel the Hualien Hakka traditional culture, the loss and change caused by the impact of the times, which are committed to this work and to be presented to the reader/audience.
