碩士 === 國立勤益科技大學 === 流通管理系 === 104 === This study aimed to investigate police personnel’s satisfaction with current standby area and its correlation with their job performance, in order to offer suggestion for top decision-makers to improve the much-neglected standby area, with the hope of enhancing police’s job performance as a result. The study targeted the Fifth, Sixth, and Wufeng Precincts of Taichung City Police Department as objects of study. After the examination of relevant literature and current data, the structure of the research are established, and questionnaires are designed to access the seven aspects of standby area: space, lighting, noise, air quality, equipment, cleanliness, and color scheme. The survey consisted of two parts, expert subjective assessment and questionnaires on police’s satisfaction, which were conducted simultaneously. Statistical software was then adopted to analyze survey data. The results were as follows: 1. Expert assessment revealed the rating of the three precincts’ standby areas: the Fifth Precinct, the Wufeng Precinct, and the Sixth Precinct, in descending order. 2. Questionnaires on police’s satisfaction produced exactly the same rating. 3. The results of expert assessment and questionnaires on police’s satisfaction were highly correlated. The rating and satisfaction of the Fifth Precinct’s standby area were the highest, whereas the Sixth Precinct’s left much to be desired. Thus, current standby area still has room for improvement, such as location on lower floor and protection of privacy regarding different genders. In addition, there was no explicit relation between police personnel’s satisfaction with standby area and their job performance, which was mainly affected by police evaluation system.
