The driving circuit consists of an “AC to DC converter” and a “DC to DC high-voltage generator.” The “AC to DC converter” uses a flyback converter, in which input voltage 90 Vrms to 265 Vrms are conversed into output voltage 12 VDC and 5VDC to provide the voltage need of the high-voltage generator and the protection circuit. The “DC to DC high-generator” with double-voltage circuit produces 4 KV and 8 KV to provide power of an electrostatic precipitator. When the over-current and short-current occur in the high-voltage generator, the signals of the logic circuit and microcontroller are processed to shutdown the high-voltage generator. Therefore, the function of circuit protection can be achieved. Simultaneously, the abnormality of the signals from the LCD monitor is displayed to increase the safety of the control system. By test and measurements, the proposed driving circuit can not only collect dust effectively, but also achieve the protections of the over-current and short-current, as well as the function of the clean display for the electrostatic air cleaner.
