Summary: | 碩士 === 國立勤益科技大學 === 工業工程與管理系 === 104 === Socket organizer is conventionally known as socket holder and it stores all types of hand sockets and impact sockets. It features assorting, storing, and sheltering the diversities of socket quantities with various arrangements. Such arrangements are combinations for accommodating various lengths and numbers of sockets. Aside from its fundamental function as socket placement, the exterior appearance is the key factor of how consumer judges its quality. Therefore, how to control the surface treatment in order to make the product fit customers’ demands has become the most crucial part for product characteristic improvement in the manufacturing process.
This study incorporates Six Sigma Quality to aim at improving an existing surface treatment process through five phases stated as Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC). An experimental validation was performed on the processes of socket holder manufacturing in one of domestic hand tool parts assembly companies. This experiment employs Taguchi Quality Engineering to find out the best process combination for electroplating procedures. Then the measured data was optimized through Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The result shows Cpk was increased from 0.73 up to 1.49. The yield rates of both production capability and surface treatment were also improved evidently. Ultimately, the overall quality of the socket holders has been relatively increased and customer complaints on exterior defects or rust-spots were largely reduced.
