Based on documentary films (Text), the viewpoint from director(Producer), Stereotype and prejudice(Society of Taiwan), discoursing how to dialogue with “ the issue of the new immigrants” by these documentary films and trying to answer the questions: 1. How the directors discourse the difficult position of the new immigrants, 2. How to construct / be construct the image of the new immigrants by documentary films, 3. In the documentary films, how to conversation with the difficulties of the new immigrants and the society of Taiwan. Transnational marriage involves sub-topic as “language”, “economic”, “traditional value”, “education”, “transnational estrangement”. However, the general news media failed to represent the new immigrants’ position with fair. On the other hand, the new immigrants’ position isn’t stable, it gradually changed with period and social changes. Therefore, this study chooses the documentary films with early films and recent films to intercompare, trying to observe and react “the phenomenon of the new immigrant in Taiwan”. First, Tsai Tsung-lung’s “Trilogy of Immigrant Brides” is typical in early documentary films of the new immigrants. When Tsai tried to voice for the new immigrants, he steadied Paternity. Then, this study tries to discuss the power and the class when the new immigrants change from “be-viewer” to “viewer”. When Nguyen became a director at the first time, she tried to destigma to Taiwanese audience, the act re-answer the constriction by Paternity and capitalist. Finally, this study takes Ho Chao-ti’s “Class 303” to improve the influence of transnational marriage by capitalist. The category expands the new immigrant women to their families and children. Discoursing how difficulties the new immigrants rooted in Taiwan and the contradiction between the two generations when the new immigrants were faced to “Taiwan/ Home Country”.
