China’s economy is developing rapidly. China used to be the world factory, however, it has become as the world market(China 12th Five-Year program). The huge demand in the Chinese domestic market makes the enterprises all over the world eager to share this market. However, the operating environment of Mainland China has its unique characteristics, which frustrates many foreign enterprises. Then, what is the key of doing business in Mainland China? What should we pay attention to, especially in the practice of maintaining customer relationship?
There have already been a lot of discussions about how to maintain customer relationship. These discussions are mainly aimed to explore the value of the product or service itself and the sources of the information are mostly from the developed countries. However, China is a developing country. The operating environment is quite different from that of the developed countries. It’s doubtful whether the results of the study before are applicable? Therefore, based on the existing customer relationship structure, we are trying to discuss how the unique characteristics of China market influence the customer relationship.
The results of this study can provide some practical guides of maintaining customer relationship, which will improve customer loyalty and then promote sales smoothly. It is helpful for people who want to invest or start a business in China in the future. In addition, it also fills in the gap in the literature on how to maintain customer relationship in developing countries.
