Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 機械工程學系所 === 104 === This study attempted to apply ultrasonic vibration to a single point incremental forming process of sheet metal. The material used in experiments was AA1060 aluminum alloy. The experimental test program was mainly focus on the influence of three different process parameter: the diameter of forming tool, the vertical step size between consecutive contours and the assistance of ultrasonic vibration. To investigate quality of the part in this study, the forming force, the distribution of thickness and the roughness of the part are set as the objective. Furthermore, this study tried to raise the limit of the wall angle in single point incremental forming assistance by ultrasonic vibration.
As results, the forming force, the distribution of thickness and the roughness of parts are improved when decreasing the diameter of forming tool and the vertical size between consecutive contours. Com-pare to the vertical step size, the diameter of the forming tool had more effect in the single point incremental forming. The assistance of ultra-sonic vibration had the same effect to reduce the forming force. However, consider the characteristic of ultrasonic vibration, the effect decreased by increasing the diameter of forming tools or by vertical step size. With ultrasonic vibration, the minimum thickness of the specimen increased. Furthermore, the distribution of thickness was more uniform. As result, the surface roughness decreased with ultrasonic vibration. The single point incremental forming of sheet process metal in assistance of ultrasonic vibration and the parameter of the process gathered in this study provide a reference for future applications of the single incremental forming process in the industry.
